At Meapica, the privacy of our users — especially when it comes to children's data — is our top priority.

1. Data controller

The data controller for personal data collected through meapica.shop is Xavier Huix Trenco (Meapica), tax ID 41649433K, address Carrer Aribau 140, 5º, 08036 Barcelona (Spain). For any privacy question, write to admin@casmar.tech.

2. Data we collect

We collect the data needed to create your personalised book: the child's name, age, city, interests and physical features for the illustrations and, only if you choose to upload one, a photo of the child (see section 8). We also collect your email and shipping address to process orders.

3. Purpose of processing

We use your data only to: create the personalised story and its illustrated character, process payment and shipping, and contact you about your order. We never sell data to third parties.

4. Legal basis

Creating, previewing and printing your book, managing your account, payment and shipping: performance of the contract you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The child's photo: explicit consent of the child's parent or legal guardian (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 7 of Spain's LOPDGDD), which you can withdraw at any time. Newsletter and waitlist: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw whenever you like. Keeping invoices and accounting records: legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Service security and abuse prevention (for example, usage limits): legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Measuring our ads with Meta (advertising cookies and purchase event): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw from "Cookie settings".

5. Processors and international transfers

To provide the service we work with providers that process data only on our instructions: OpenAI Ireland Ltd. (generating the story text and illustrations and, if you upload one, the character from the photo), Supabase (database and storage), Vercel (web hosting), Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. (payments), Gelato (printing and shipping) Resend (order emails) and, only if you accept advertising cookies, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (measuring our ads). OpenAI does not use the data we send it to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. When a provider or its sub-processors process data outside the European Economic Area (for example, in the United States), the transfer relies on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability, and withdraw your consent at any time, by writing to admin@casmar.tech. We will reply within one month at the latest. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD, www.aepd.es).

7. Children's data protection

We do not collect data directly from children. The child's data is provided by the parent or legal guardian who creates the book.

8. Photos of children

Uploading a photo is optional: you can also create the character by choosing their features. If you upload one, we use it only to create the child's illustrated character (their portrait and character sheet), and only with the consent of the child's parent or legal guardian. Before storing it we remove all its metadata, including GPS location, and keep it in private storage that only our server can access. The photo is sent to OpenAI to draw the character; OpenAI does not use it to train its models and may keep it for up to 30 days to detect abuse. We delete the photo as soon as the character is created, and in any case within 24 hours. The book (preview and final version) is illustrated only from the drawn character, never from the photo. We do not use it for facial recognition or for any other purpose. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to admin@casmar.tech and we will delete it immediately. We keep a record of your consent (date, version of the accepted text and language) as proof that you gave it.

By using meapica.shop you accept the following terms.

1. Identification

Meapica is a personalized children's book creation platform operated from Spain by Xavier Huix Trenco, with registered address at Carrer Aribau 140, 5º, 08036 Barcelona (Spain). Contact: admin@casmar.tech.

2. Service

Meapica offers the creation of personalized children's stories with unique illustrations, printed on demand.

3. Intellectual property

Illustrations are created specifically for each book. The buyer receives a personal, non-commercial use license for the purchased book.

4. Prices and payments

All prices are final, VAT included, and shown in euros. For printed books, shipping within Spain is included in the price. Payment is processed securely through Stripe.

5. Shipping and returns

Books are printed on demand in Europe, and for now we only ship to addresses in Spain. Mainland Spain: 7-10 business days. Balearic Islands: 7-10 business days. We don't ship to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla yet. As personalized products, books are excluded from the right of withdrawal (Art. 103(c) of the Spanish consolidated consumer protection law, TRLGDCU) and cannot be returned. If a book arrives with any printing or manufacturing defect, or is damaged in transit, write to us within 30 days of receiving it, with a photo of the book and the packaging, and we will send you a new one free of charge. This does not limit your statutory warranty rights.

6. Limitation of liability

Meapica does not guarantee uninterrupted service availability. Illustrations may vary and a specific result is not guaranteed.

Meapica uses technical cookies the service needs to work and, only if you accept them, advertising cookies from Meta.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when visiting a website.

2. Cookies we use

Technical (always on): keeping you signed in, remembering your language, handling the purchase and storing your cookie choice (meapica_consent, 12 months). Advertising (only with your consent): the Meta Pixel (_fbp and _fbc, 90 days) measures which Instagram and Facebook ads lead to a purchase and helps show them to people who may be interested; meapica_utm (30 days) remembers which ad or post brought you here so it can be linked to your order.

3. Third-party cookies

Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd., only if you accept advertising cookies: receives browsing data and, if you buy, the order amount and your hashed email and phone number to measure our ads. Meta may process data in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Stripe (payment processor) may set its own cookies during payment.

4. Cookie management

You can accept or reject advertising cookies in the notice shown on your first visit and change your mind at any time from "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. If you reject them, the site works just the same. You can also delete them from your browser.

How is my book created?

You choose the adventure, customize the character with your child's name, age and features, and our technology writes a unique story with original illustrations. No other child in the world will ever have the same book.

How long does shipping take?

Each book is printed on demand in Europe as soon as you order. For now we only ship within Spain. Mainland Spain: 7-10 business days. Balearic Islands: 7-10 business days. We don't ship to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla yet. You'll receive an email with the tracking number once your parcel is on its way.

Can I customize the character?

Yes! You can choose the name, age, hair/eye/skin color, hairstyle, gender, and even add their pet, favorite food, or future dream. Everything appears in the story and illustrations.

What paper do you use?

We print on 170 g coated silk paper, which renders the illustrations in vivid colour with a soft touch. The binding is glued, like a premium photo album, and the cover is matt-laminated. Choose softcover or hardcover, the sturdiest option.

Can I request changes after purchase?

Since each book is a unique edition generated on the spot, it cannot be modified once created. That's why we show you a full preview before purchase, so you can review the story and illustrations.

What size is the book?

The book measures 20×20 cm (8×8 inches), the ideal format for little hands. It has 30 pages with 12 illustrated scenes, a cover, a personalized dedication and a back cover.

Shipping times

For now we only ship within Spain. Mainland Spain: 7-10 business days. Balearic Islands: 7-10 business days. We don't ship to the Canary Islands, Ceuta or Melilla yet. Each book is printed on demand in Europe, so the timeframe includes printing.

Shipping cost

Standard shipping is included in the book price, which already includes VAT. No hidden costs or surprises in the box.

Protective packaging

Your book travels in cardboard packaging designed to get it to you in perfect condition, ready to give. If it still arrives damaged, write to us and we'll send you a new one free of charge.

Order tracking

Once the book leaves the printer, you'll receive an email with the tracking number. You can also check your order status from your user dashboard at meapica.shop.
